The team at Thai Garden Design recently helped the Northern International Montessori School design and install this School Garden Playground Design, for their new campus by the Chiang Mai Airport, Thailand.
Having seen Thai Garden Design’s previous work in the area of playground design for various International Schools in Bangkok, they were keen to engage our design skills and experience, to help promote their own offerings.
The playground area was large, measuring around 4000 SQM of area in total. This area was to become the main play area for students at the school, catering to a number of age groups.
Having discussed the various requirements and student requirements, a design and budget were agreed, and work began on this School Garden Playground Design in early 2022.
Turnkey Landscape Design
The approved design consisted of several features, a linking concrete pathway, shade sail areas, and play toys and interest areas for the younger visitors.
Included were a grass hill tunnel, stage and rope climb, sandpit, stainless steel slide and steps, within a compound of established shade trees, and with undulating gradient and hillsides.
At the onset, the Thai Garden Design team agreed and installed a drainage system, evacuating runoff water off the playground (no puddles!).
The final installation is a great combination of spread play features, natural and artificial grass areas, low maintenance toys, amongst extensive, established shade trees. A wonderful and safe play area for the students of this amazing new school.
