The team at Thai Garden Design are just putting the finishing touches for this new tropical show garden at a large homestead in Jomtien, Pattaya. The owner is in the middle of major build renovations, but wanted desperately to improve his garden, as it was in a state of disarray.
After an initial visit Thai Garden Design suggested various design ideas that suited the owners ‘low maintenance’ requirement, and a plan was put together. After several amendments a plan was agreed, and a date was set.
The team began by tropicalizing the outside perimeter of the garden, with tropical Macarther palms, Heliconia’s, and a colourful mix of shrubs and ground covers.
(above pic, right hand side, grass yet to be added) A major part of the landscape plan was a large rock garden, using large boulders that were already present in the garden when the owner arrived. These were arranged with new pebbles, interesting planting, feature palm trees and retaining brickwork. A curving crazy paved pathway leads to the pool terrace from the driveway (above pic).
The new garden is a massive change from before, a vibrant welcoming garden that befits this modern home.
