The owner of this nice home in the centre of Bangkok wanted to make a special garden for his family. A modern urban garden landscape. The houses within these developments are normally pretty clinical – we wanted to create a garden that was private, usable as well as elegant.
All elements were changed, from the driveway, increased privacy screening (reaching 2m above the wall), the paving (stamped concrete) with a separate sitting deck made from New Zealand pine wood, a covering shade pergola, and unique architectural planting.
The colour scheme, general look and feel and plant selection has longevity in mind, low maintenance, and easy on the eye.
The garden is now an interesting and inviting space. It is different from all the other garden spaces on the development, and it is usable and private space. The space outside the home is important, it should be utilized, with Thailand’s climate, it’s important to spend time outside.
