Thai Garden Design received an enquiry from a couple renovating a house in Phetchaburi Province, Thailand. Extensive renovations were planned for their newly purchased beach property, and part of the development was to construct a large sala that would run partly alongside their home and extend out towards the sea (more pictures of this project here).
The build team began work and prepared the ground for the construction, which included a 40cm raised step into the sala and appropriate foundations for such a large build (the final sala floor measures 15.0 x 4.5m, not including the roof overhang).
Various features were chosen by the owner appropriate to their tastes, including the floor tiling pattern, lighting fixtures, roof tiles and ceiling fans (pictures included in album here).
The total build time took 8 weeks from start to finish. Along one side of the sala is an enclosing wooden wall for privacy, with the open side ensuring good access to the planned pool in the foreground (pic above).
This large building ensures that when the pool is installed and the garden is finished, the owners will be able to sit and relax outside, under shelter from the rain and sunshine, and work / rest / enjoy the beautiful coastal views which benefit this house.
The build was completed mostly whilst the owners were abroad overseas, with the team ensuring they were updated and with all their questions answered at all times.
